Did you hear of the time Poetry met Politics on the stairs?
Did you hear the heated exchange of words that ensued?
Could you tell one from the other when their words merged?
Did you see the figures of speech from the Figure of speech?
I did. I saw it. It went.......
MR. POLITICS...You deceive the masses
With academic rhetorics
You cover fake policies
In linguistic fallacies
In the Opposition you seek power
In power you seek power
You quote for votes
Just to row the boat of hope......
The likes of you make me sick!
Politics fumed......MR. POETRY....
You sentimental uppity goof
Provide all solutions yet stand aloof
You thrive on peoples emotions
And exploit their hurt and tribulations
You paint worlds of colour and peace
In the midst of wars and disease
Dying people don't need literature
Keep feeding your word epicure
But I motivate I inspire and elevate
I criticize and emancipate
Well I amass the populace
I gather and educate
I mobilize and evaluate
Shush! you two...... I screamed!
You all different but the same
One is the voice
The other the action
You are the force to his ideas
He is your medium of movement
Without the other you both cannot be
So when one lies, the other is equally guilty
